John Rodkin, Managing Director of Samsung NEXT VC

John Rodkin will provide an overview of the venture capital industry with the opportunity to learn about the structure of VC firms, deals and the important nuances for founder to understand in navigating the VC industry. Mr. Rodkin's talk will also provide some essential context for VC firms among alternative asset classes and investment groups including angels, super angels, VCs, and more. Plus, learn how VC's perform portfolio company valuations. Don't miss out on this great opportunity to meet and learn from one of SF and Silicon Valley's leading VC investors.

About John Rodkin

John Rodkin is the Managing Director of Samsung NEXT, San Francisco. Prior to joining Samsung, John was the CEO of four startup companies: ShopSanity (ecommerce analytics, acquired by ShopRunner), ClickShift (digital advertising optimization, acquired by WebTrends), Green Hedges (home value insurance, failed), and Flyswat (hyperlink management/advertising, acquired by NBC Internet for $120 million). He was also the owner of Web Position, a SEO analytics company sold to Infospace, where he ran the technology and marketing groups. Prior to his entrepreneurial career, John was an RF engineer at ViaSat where he designed CDMA communication devices for the US Navy. 


John is a lecturer at Stanford Law School, where he teaches two courses in venture capital and entrepreneurship. He has a B.S. and M.Eng from MIT in electrical engineering, and a JD and an MBA from the University of Chicago.
