Big Red Friends and Families should bring their dogs (or love of dogs) to Mussel Rock Open Space the morning of Sunday, December 17th. We'll walk the path and get to know each other. This is a great, casual event for old and new members!

This park has beautiful trails along the bluffs with ocean views as far as the Farallon Islands. This is a popular spot for paragliding and a great spot for seal, bird and whale watching. Mussel Rock is a jagged rock formation close to the coast where birds gather. Just recently I saw falcons, dolphins, and other birds at play.

Big Red Dogs events will help fund Cornell NorCal's two Cornell endowedscholarships—the Ira B. Degenhardt Tradition Fellowship and the Peter E. Lee Tradition Fellowship—both of which are managed by Cornell University. These funds allow us to award Tradition Fellowships to two deserving students from the Bay Area for each year of their four-year tenure at Cornell.

Location:

68 Westline Dr, Daly City, CA 94015. Wear red or Cornell Gear to spot the rest of us. I will send my cell number to anyone who registers.

Trail Distance:

We'll walk down towards the water to view Tobin's Tunnel. Slight uphill grade on the way back.

Note:

This is an easy/moderate hike. Dress in layers based on the weather conditions and bring water for you (and your pup!) to stay hydrated. The beach can be windy.
