  • 29 Aug 2015
  • 10:00 AM
  • 730 N. San Pedro Road, San Rafael, CA 94901
Cornell NorCal and the Cornell Asian Alumni Association are partnering to present this event.

We'll start with an easy hike of China Camp State Park lasting one hour, walking along the beach and marshland trails of the remnants of what was once an actual fishing and shrimping village inhabited by Chinese immigrants.

After the hike, we'll join the annual China Camp Heritage Day Festival, for the activities which include a Lion Dance, musical performances, and Local environmental, cultural, and historical groups with educational displays. We'll also have an optional lunch on the China Camp State Park Beach. It is recommended that you bring your own sandwich lunch and drink.

Heritage Day features musical and dance performances, including Lion Dancers and Chinese folk dancers.
There are arts and crafts for sale, with 20% of the proceeds going to help Friends of China Camp.
Local environmental, cultural, and historical groups set up educational displays, including the San Francisco Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve, the Marin History Museum, and Wildcare.
The Grace Quan, a replica Chinese junk, is docked offshore, along with other historic boats.

Agenda:
10:00-11:00am: Hike
11:00am-12:30pm: Tour Celebration Day activities
