IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS & CORNELL NORCAL EVENTS

As Cornellians, we seek to bond with each other in good times and tough times. Unfortunately, with the outbreak of COVID-19, especially in the Bay Area, in-person group gatherings have become too much of a risk to the community.
As a result of the growing number of cases, we have decided to focus on keeping the Cornell NorCal community connected via virtual events in the meantime. We will keep this community up to date on any changes on upcoming events. We hope to see you healthy at an event in the near future.
If you have questions about the status of specific events, please check our website or email us at info@cornellnorcal.com.

Sincerely,

Cornell NorCal Board of Directors

SOLD OUT: Habitat for Humanity Build Day

  • 06 Feb 2016
  • 8:15 AM - 4:30 PM
  • 1 Capitol Ave, San Francisco, CA

Registration

Registration is closed

Join fellow Cornellians as we help Habitat for Humanity build a new community in San Francisco. Volunteers will help with framing, plumbing, painting, dry walling, siding, and more. No experience is necessary.

Habitat Terrace is Habitat Greater San Francisco’s largest development currently in construction. Habitat for Humanity is building 28 single-family, GreenPoint-rated homes in San Francisco’s Oceanview neighborhood. About 85 percent of the construction is done by volunteers. Experienced construction managers and Americorps staff will teach and supervise volunteers as they help provide safe, affordable homes to members of our community.

Agenda:

8:30am - 9:00am - Check-in, orientation, & safety briefing

9:00am - 12:00pm - Construction work

12:00pm - 12:45pm - Lunch (bring your own)

1:00pm - 4:00pm - More construction work

4:00pm - 4:30pm - Clean up

Habitat for Humanity needs an accurate count of volunteers, so please only register if you can commit to the full day (volunteers cannot arrive late or leave early). Volunteers must be at least 16 years old (16-17 year olds must bring a signed waiver).

Please contact Carolyn Strauss, '12, with questions.
