As Cornellians, we seek to bond with each other in good times and tough times. Unfortunately, with the outbreak of COVID-19, especially in the Bay Area, in-person group gatherings have become too much of a risk to the community.
As a result of the growing number of cases, we have decided to focus on keeping the Cornell NorCal community connected via virtual events in the meantime. We will keep this community up to date on any changes on upcoming events. We hope to see you healthy at an event in the near future.
If you have questions about the status of specific events, please check our website or email us at info@cornellnorcal.com.

  • 15 May 2016
  • 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
  • 429 Castro St, San Francisco, CA 94114

Cornell NorCal is pleased to announce on behalf of Abby Ginzberg '71:

Please join the filmmakers at the Bay Area premiere of the award-winning documentary concerning the Willard Straight building takeover in 1969.

Through the stories of those who were on the front lines of the effort to create the College of Ethnic Studies at SF State University and those fighting for a Black Studies Department at Cornell University, Agents of Change takes viewers to the crossroads of change and controversy at a pivotal time in American history, shedding new light on today's Black Lives Matter and campus protests.

Film screens at 1pm, followed by discussion with activists from SF State featured in the film and the filmmakers, Frank Dawson and Abby Ginzberg.

Pam Moore of KRON will moderate the discussion.

A reception follows from 3-4 pm in the upstairs mezzanine of the Castro.
