A picturesque fragment of Santa Clara County history lives on at the Picchetti Ranch Area. The area, named after brothers Vincenzo and Secondo Picchetti, dates back to the 1800s when Vincenzo emigrated from Italy and shortly thereafter purchased a parcel of land on the ridge of what he referred to as "Monte Bello," Italian for beautiful mountain. The Picchetti Ranch features a brick winery building and farm complex.

1. To enter into the Picchetti Ranch complex, you will take a left on Montebello Road. This road immediately forks into two. Stay to the right of the fork to enter the parking lot for the hiking trails, which is also our meeting point. Avoid the left side of the fork, as it will take you to the Picchetti vineyard's parking lot.
2. This is an easy/moderate hike. Dress in layers based on the weather conditions.
