IMPORTANT MESSAGE ABOUT THE CORONAVIRUS & CORNELL NORCAL EVENTS

As Cornellians, we seek to bond with each other in good times and tough times. Unfortunately, with the outbreak of COVID-19, especially in the Bay Area, in-person group gatherings have become too much of a risk to the community.
As a result of the growing number of cases, we have decided to focus on keeping the Cornell NorCal community connected via virtual events in the meantime. We will keep this community up to date on any changes on upcoming events. We hope to see you healthy at an event in the near future.
If you have questions about the status of specific events, please check our website or email us at info@cornellnorcal.com.

Sincerely,

Cornell NorCal Board of Directors

This is an online workshop to improve the composition and artistry of your photography, regardless of your experience or your gear (camera phones welcome). The session will cover many of the techniques and compositional tools a photographer can use to improve their images, and will introduce or expand upon your knowledge of various artistic and compositional ideas, tools, and terms that can improve all types of photography.

Topics Covered:

  • What makes a photo great?
  • Elements of Composition and how to use them
  • How the eye reads a photo
  • How to direct the viewer’s eye within a photo
  • Working a scene or subject
  • Dissecting images – the vocabulary of composition

    Class Structure:

    • Two-hour online course with live instruction
    • Q&A breaks throughout
    • Homework assignments to reinforce session material
