Join us for a fun and informative evening where we'll talk about wine and the wine business. With panelists from Penn, Cornell and Harvard, this is our first Inter-Ivy event of 2021.

Our panelists have worked across the wine industry - from investing in wine businesses to growing, marketing and distributing wine to, of course, consumption of our beloved, fermented grape juice.

Topics discussed will include: a view of today's wine business; the impact of wildfires and a pandemic on the business; challenges and complexities in getting products to market; understanding wine pricing and wine pairings; and making wine more approachable to new consumers. The panel discussion will be followed by a time of Q&A with attendees.

This event is free and advance registration is required. Please register for the event here: https://www.cornellclubla.com/article.html?aid=2051

Zoom login info will be sent to registered guests only. Registration will close on Wednesday, January 20th at 6 pm PT. Reserve your spot now!

Panelists:

Tim Taylor (Penn) is the Director of Business Development for Wine.com, the largest Wine e-commerce retailer in the US. He is responsible for launching marketing partnerships with wine regions around the world. He also manages the 3rd party distribution relationships (including with Vivino) and other new business company efforts. After getting his MBA from Wharton, Tim started out with Wine.com in Finance and changed careers to work in Business Development for the last 6 years.

Meaghan Qian-Fu Becker (Harvard) is a wine business executive based in Napa, California. Meaghan began her career in Investment Banking at Goldman Sachs and eventually moved to San Francisco for a Strategy role in Silicon Valley after receiving her MBA at Harvard Business School. It was during this time that she discovered her passion for wine, moved to Napa and joined the wine business. She was most recently General Manager at Quintessa, an estate winery in the heart of Napa Valley and Publisher at JamesSuckling.com, overseeing all business and operational matters for the internationally renowned wine critic. She recently founded her management consulting practice In Vino Veritas LLC, focused on supporting winery clients in their path to growth.

Marisa Sergi (Cornell) is a third-generation winemaker and one of the forces behind L'uva Bella / RedHead Wine. After earning a B.S. in winemaking from Cornell University and moving to California to work for the largest winery in the U.S., she moved back to Ohio to launch a brand, RedHead. Just 3 years later, RedHead Wine can now be found in Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and soon to be in VA. Due to the success of the brand, she acquired her family winery, L’uva Bella in 2020, where Marisa develops and executes multiple brands.  This has earned L'uva Bella the title of one of Ohio's fastest growing wine companies and being recognized by the world's largest retailer as a "Lead Supplier." Marisa is not only passionate about wine, but also the entrepreneurial spirit. Over the past few years, Marisa has spoken to over 50,000 aspiring entrepreneurs and continues to mentor students as an Entrepreneur in Residence at Cornell.
