Cornell Alumni Association of Northern California Outdoors: 2022 Bike Across the Golden Gate Bridge with Stanford University

Join Cornell University alumni and friends for an exhilarating ride across the Golden
Gate Bridge - from the Presidio across the Golden Gate bridge and back again. Imagine a clear view of the city and the Marin Headlands as we span the bridge, stop and enjoy the views and return. The ride will be an out-and-back route of approximately 7 miles, with about 200 feet of elevation gain.
The group will meet at Sports Basement in the Presidio (address below), where folks will be able to rent bikes and helmets if needed. We will then ride through Crissy Field, over the Golden Gate Bridge to a lookout area to take pictures and enjoy the view. Once everyone regroups, snacks and hydrates, we’ll slowly return across the bridge, back to the Sports Basement.
Date: Saturday, Feb 5th at 1PM. Please arrive at 1PM so you have time to rent your bike and helmet, and get acquainted with it.
Location: Sports Basement 610 Old Mason St, San Francisco, CA 94129 (415 934 2900)
Time: Bike renters - please arrive by at least 1 pm to rent bikes; all other riders - please arrive by 1:15PM pm. The group will be leaving at 1:30 pm SHARP, so arrive on time.
Cost: Bike rental (please call ahead to reserve a bike) + $2 administrative registration fee
Number of tickets: 20 people
Bike Rental: Sports Basement rental prices are 32 or 40 USD per day, depending on the bike you choose (please arrange ahead of time by calling sports basement)
Parking: Sports Basement has a parking lot.
Post Bike Dinner: We will announce the restaurant location via email the night before the hike.
Rain Dates: Event is POSTPONED until further notice.
Special Notes: Wear RED so we can easily keep the group together. Pack more water and less food. Attractive people always wear helmets. We will stop to have snacks at the turn around point.
