Join Cornell alumni for a beautiful 8.2 mile hike in Tilden Regional Park in Berkeley. The trail is paved and relatively flat, so accessible for most who love the outdoors.

This trail, known as the Nimitz Trail, Nimitz Way, or the Nimitz Way Trail, is Berkeley’s most popular trail. The open, sunny trail, an old road built in the 1950s to access a Nike missile installation, runs along San Pablo Ridge. The northern end of the trail has some views of San Pablo Reservoir and glimpses of the bay.

Look for Mae and Deb, dressed in RED Cornell gear at the trailhead.

Location: Inspiration Point parking lot, Nimitz Trailhead, Tilden Regional Park, Berkeley, CA

Here’s the trailhead location in Google Maps and Google Street View

Parking:
There is a parking lot at Inspiration Point. It can fill up early, so you can also park outside the lot on Wildcat Canyon Road.
