Calling all South Bay Cornell NorCal alumni! We have an opportunity to showcase our Big Red spirit of community service as part of Cornell Cares January 2024. Let's gather to do the greatest good through acts of service. Join us and the NorCal chapter of the Cornell Asian Alumni Association at the Second Harvest Silicon Valley Food Bank on Thursday, January 18, 2024, with a social hour beforehand!
First we'll meet at Starbucks at 4190 N. 1st Street (at Holger Way) at 4:30 pm for coffee and tea (to be provided by Cornell NorCal). Then we'll make our way to the food bank (about a 3-minute drive) to arrive by 6:00pm to learn about food insecurity in San Jose; prepare food for distribution by verifying, sorting, labeling, and repacking food items; and understand how Cornellians can help their community through advocacy for food justice year round. Wear close-toed shoes and layers, hair tied back.
Children ages 12 and over are welcome when accompanied by a parent. Parents must complete paperwork required by the food bank.
Wear your Cornell red!
